Tutor Administrative Fee Explained

So that every tutor knows exactly how we collect lesson fees and how the administrative fee is worked out, here are the arrangements in full.

We collect the first two lessons' fees

Fees are paid in two instalments

The balance settles at your agreed share

How we collect fees

For each student's course, we collect the first two lessons' fees as the basis for administrative and operating costs. Fees are paid in two instalments.

What the administrative fee covers

The first two lessons' fees we collect already include the administrative fee. It is worked out and deducted according to the instalment arrangement, and the remainder settles to you at the agreed share between you and Hawkeye Education.

How the two instalments are worked out

When each instalment falls due, and how the amount is calculated

STEP 1

First instalment

The student pays 50% of the first lesson's fee on enrolment or before the course begins.

First lesson's fee × 50%

STEP 2

Second instalment

The student pays the second instalment before the third lesson.

Third lesson's fee in full − amount already paid

Special case

If the case runs to two lessons or fewer in total, the administrative fee is 50% of the total fees.

Administrative fee = Total fees × 50%

Things to note

All lesson fee and administrative fee calculations follow the lesson rates we publish.

If a student withdraws partway, changes class, or any other special circumstance arises, the administrative fee and the tutor's due payment will be handled separately under our established policy.
